FanExpo approaches! Summer reigns! This was a month of side-quest joy, maple sea salt shaken espresso, and little guys (including this Rorsach beetle from the lake)!

Outside the Studio

The cafe where I star weekly as a gorgeous barista had its first anniversary, and I was lucky enough to be asked if I would be interested in face-painting for the event.

Sadly no pictures of my creations, since I mainly painted children, but I also drew our sign!

It was a fun event and I got to meet so many people who love the cafe. I also got to try out some new sponges!

BOOTH A1123!!

This is the biggest event I’ve ever done. I’ve looked up artist alley numbers from last year to scale by, quadrupled my stock, and am currently upgrading my displays like a madwoman.

Did I mention all the originals I’ll have with me? Because my desk has also been covered in those too.

I am so excited to get into Boston and start setting up! (Also I just love hotels omg. Come to me, well-lit makeup mirror and views of the city!)

Midnight Oil Updates

Continuing this year’s trend of playing characters in white makeup, I’m happy to report I’ve joined the undead ensemble of The Addams Family! Everyone has been so kind (and I found out my director and I are second cousins? Small world!).

This one is a community production in Manchester, NH with the Manchester Community Theatre Players. We’ll have six shows in September — I’ll update when tickets go on sale, but here’s the link if you want to check it out yourself!

In between rehearsals, I was also lucky enough to perform at North Country Commons!

I was so excited to be a part of this event and support the queer community way up in Lancaster, New Hampshire.

We passed Santa’s Village on the way in! The views were absolutely gorgeous.

Everyone was so kind, and when we reached the venue — Mount Cabot Maple’s greenhouse event space — it was time to perform! I did an acoustic set of indie and pop covers, including lots of Florence and the Machine and boygenius, and finished it up with belting Sabrina Carpenter into the White Mountains.

As for Wicked Stage, I am still in the process of securing a venue, and may table the concept for now, since we’re getting closer to October. Never giving up though!

Studio Updates

Like I said above, I have been cooking on a bunch of originals for FanExpo Boston, the newest of which is this Elphaba on a watercolor board!

I feel like this very unintentionally channeled the vintage barbie style, but I’m not mad at it! This watercolor board was given to me by my friend Ashley years ago and I’m mad I waited so long. I definitely need to get more of these!

Something great is going to happen and I’m feeling very inclined to leave you with (once again) the Muppets:
